Prof. Samuel Addo, PhD is an Associate Professor of Aquaculture at the University of Ghana with over two decades of experience in aquatic animal health, sustainable aquaculture, and fisheries science. He holds a PhD in Aquaculture from Auburn University (USA) and has led several international research and capacity-building initiatives across Africa.
His work focuses on fish health management, water quality, biosecurity systems, and food fish safety, with strong emphasis on translating research into policy and industry practice. He has served as Head of the Department of Marine and Fisheries Sciences and chaired the National Aquaculture Committee of Ghana.
Prof. Addo is a principal investigator and coordinator on major NORAD- and WorldFish-funded projects, contributing to training, innovation, and sustainable development in aquaculture. He has supervised numerous MSc, MPhil, and PhD students and published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.
